Hi, my name is Deric Lipski Jr. I am a senior from Easton, Massachusetts and I wrestle at Oliver Ames High School. This year I want to wrestle in the 160 lb weight class. I've been wrestling since I was in the third grade and hope to further my wrestling career in college. It all started when my dad took my brother and I to a youth wrestling class and from that moment on, I fell in love with the sport. I participated in youth wrestling and club wrestling up until high school which is where my career really kicked off. I would love to wrestle in college because I come from a wrestling family and have a really good background on the sport. I would fit good in a college wrestling program because I am hard working in the classroom and on the wrestling mat. I am also very dedicated to success and learning new things and last but not least, I am a leader. I like to set a good example for myself and others around me not only on the mat, but outside of it as well. I have a 3.5 G.P.A and I also am a honor roll and high honors student. My goal is to have as close to a 4.0 G.P.A as possible to benefit my college choices. Throughout high school, I received a lot of varsity wins, the most improved wrestler award, top ten in the state, and I now am the captain of my team. My goal this year is to compete, work hard, win many tournaments including sectionals, placing top in the state, be a leader to my teammates, and most importantly receive a scholarship from a college that is beneficial to me.
