2016-17 Full MatchPersonal Statement
After failing to reach the state tournament my freshman and sophomore years, I was determined to make the podium as a junior. As the season went on and my training progressed, I set my goal a bar higher and aspired to be a state champion. Although I had reached my individual goal, our team fell one dual short in the team state finals match, losing 28-28 on criteria H. This experience allowed me to grow as a person and wrestler by humbling me and motivating me to achieve a goal that was bigger than myself.
Throughout my high school wrestling career I was fortunate enough to win the MHSAA Div. 3 state title, with a determination to repeat my senior year. I've learned to value sacrifice, hard work, and confidence. I hope to continue competing at a high level in college, while growing as a wrestler and achieving success. I am looking for a program that will fit me well both academically and athletically. I believe that not only my hard work and commitment, but my leadership will make an impact on your team.
