I started my wrestling career in 7th grade. I remember my mom encouraging me to attend just one practice because it wasn't good to judge something without ever trying it. Here I am, over 4 years later, having found a love for the sport of wrestling and what it has taught me on and off the mat. I never shy away from hard work or making the sacrifices needed to grow, develop and make up for the time I wasn't wrestling. I consider myself an adaptive wrestler with zero quit. I learn quickly during a match and always take something away from a win or a loss. Off the mat I prioritize my education and demonstrate integrity, discipline, and the ability to be teachable/coachable in everything I do. I believe I still have the room to grow and will be an asset to a college wrestling team.
Unfortunately my junior season on the varsity team was cut short due to Covid contact tracing the day before regionals. While this is disappointing I am grateful for the reason I was granted. Ended with a 30-0 season, 112-21 overall record, achieved my 100th varsity win, conference champ, district champ and ranked #2 at division 2 145lbs (Michigan Grappler). I will continue to work hard on the mat and in the classroom and hopefully demonstrate what I could bring to your college program.
