Personal Statement
Placing 3rd at the Nebraska State Championship as a freshman has been the highlight of my high school career so far! I followed that my Sophomore year with a 4th place finish! My senior year I placed 6th at 132 lb.
I believe attending many tournaments and camps outside of the school wrestling season has given me opportunities and allowed me to increase my skills. I have been on National Dual teams and went to Florida for the Disney Duals last summer. I played midget football for 5 years and have played on my high school football team all 3 years, as well. Last year I, also, did track and participated in a few varsity meets. I raced motocross competitively from age 4 - 14.
I help Coach on Wednesday evenings at a local club for younger athletes.
What help me succeed the most throughout high school is working my hardest in practice and listening to my coaches tips. One of the reasons I love this sport, is that I can see the improvements I make individually. At the same time, I enjoy being able to contribute as part of a team in any dual competitions. I have learned that just being a good wrestler isn't enough. In order to continue enjoying wrestling competitively past high school, I need to put as much focus on my grades. In college, I plan to put more time into studying and learning as much as I can to prepare for my future.
The obstacles I have encountered thus far, have mostly been a direct result of my own actions. I can say I have stuck with it and I am a fighter. I would like to contribute to a program at the collegiate level and will appreciate the opportunity to grow academically, as well!
