Personal Statement
My name is David Loniewski, part of the 2019 graduating class at South Plainfield High School.
I have been wrestling since I was five years old and I can not imagine it not being part of my life after high school.
South Plainfield, NJ, is known as a wrestling town. It is a proud town made up of hard working families, deep traditions, and wrestling is in our blood!
I spent my freshmen and sophomore years of high school wrestling for Bishop Ahr High School in Edison, NJ. BGA is located in my neighboring town of Edison, Nj. My parents both attended Bishop Ahr High School and it provided many great opportunities. I enjoyed my time at BGA, but I was missing something.
I decided to return to my hometown highschool for my junior year. This was a very personal and difficult decision to make, but it was the right one. I am now back with my lifelong friends, coaches and “my family”.
With my parents support I have always had the opportunities to pursue my goals. As the oldest of four boys, I will continue to strive for excellence, make my family proud and be the best role model for my brothers.
Although wrestling is a huge part of my life, academics have always come first. I pride myself on being a scholar athlete. Maintaining my grades and wrestling takes dedication and sacrifice and I have always been successful in balancing my academics and wrestling. Finding a college that allows me to continue to strive both athletically and academically is very important to me.
