Personal Statement
PERSISTENT & DETERMINED
I have been wrestling since I was five years old. I come from a successful wrestling family. I did not have success early, and it's probably safe to say I didn't have a winning record until around 6th grade. Through a Godly family, who supported me I kept working, drilling and maturing until one day I started seeing the results of all of my efforts and I was "hooked" on the sport of wrestling. One of our youth wrestling coaches in Marlow, uses my story as an example each year, when he addresses wrestlers about not winning immediately. Now I am one of the best wrestlers in Oklahoma.
Wrestling has taught me many things: Discipline, patience, mental as well as physical toughness, goal setting and to absolutely NEVER STOP GRINDING! I carry this over into the classroom and have high goals for myself. One of them is to graduate with a 4.0, while being a three-sport athlete and taking six hours of college credit. My college goals are to find a university home that supports my athletic and academic pursuits while supporting my faith. Ultimately, I plan to graduate with a degree in engineering.
