Throughout my life I've always been a strong competitor because of my determination and strong work ethic. I have always been driven to be the best I can be whether that's at school with my studies, in the wrestling room working on techniques, or even at home with my family. I believe that in order to be a champion these characteristics need to continue to be driving factors. I was blessed to have two parents who competed at the collegiate level and who were able to instill these traits in me at a very young age.
A pivotal moment in my life was during the fall of my 8th grade year, when I was introduced to the sport of wrestling. I was hooked from the moment that I stepped onto the mat. It was unlike any other sport I had participated in before. Wrestling has taught me more about myself than of any other sport. I learned what it means to sacrifice, to persevere when your body is telling you to quit, and to always push yourself to the edge because that is how you make gains. I’m a better athlete, student, friend, brother, and son because of the life lessons that wrestling has to offer.
I am determined to continue my work and growth in wrestling beyond high school and into a collegiate program because I firmly believe that I’m just getting started. Everything that I do including academics, nutrition, and athletic performance are things that I continue to improve on so that I can be considered by collegiate wrestling coaches for their programs. I have the ethics, the focus, and the skills to be the champ and to make any wrestling program proud to have me a part of their team.
