My mother had me when she was 18 and was not able to complete college due to being a single mother most of my life until she met my step-father when I was 10. He completely changed our lives, quickly became my role model, since then I have wanted to go to college and be able to show my mom that she did a great job raising me by herself and to make her proud.
I started playing pee-wee football and thought that was going to be my thing until I tried wrestling in the 7th grade and fell in love. I love learning new/better ways to win a match, grinding to be the best I can and of course getting the W for myself and the team.
At one tournament that I wrestled in, the coach and I knew that I wasn't going to win the match and our teams were tied. He explained to me that if I wrested and lost then our team would loose, we knew that my teammate was going to win his match and we were the last two to wrestle. So as a team we decided that I would wrestle but take a loss to ensure that our team would take home the win. Trust me, I wanted to win my match but more than that I wanted my team to take the win!
I would like to see if I could take this wrestling thing to the college level while still furthering my education with the goal of getting a degree. I am so excited to start my senior year and move forward in deciding what my education and wrestling future looks like for college.
Hope to hear from you soon!
