Hi, my name is Alyssa Reyes, I go to Veterans Memorial High, class of 2026. Wrestling has been a big part of my life, shaping not only my athletic abilities but also my character and academic aspirations. I am excited about the possibility of continuing my wrestling career at the collegiate level. From a young age, I started Jujitsu and I was drawn to the discipline and intensity of it. Since my freshman year wrestling it has been a big part of my life. The sport has taught me the value of hard work, resilience, and perseverance. I have faced numerous challenges on the mat, and each one has strengthened my resolve to push through. My dedication to wrestling has grown more and more, and I am improving my skills and performance every day. Athletically, I have consistently demonstrated my capabilities through training and competition. I have qualified for state both my years of wrestling and placed 4th my freshman year, and I continually strive to raise my performance level. I am always eager to learn new techniques and strategies, and I believe my adaptability and willingness to embrace new challenges make me a valuable asset to a future college team. Academically, I have maintained a GPA of 3.7 while balancing a training schedule and tournaments. I understand the importance of excelling both on the mat and in the classroom, and I am committed to achieving academic success. Teamwork is also very important to me. Helping one another and building each other up is what makes not just me better but my team. I plan to pursue a degree in Real-estate/business. My time management skills, ability to prioritize and maintain this balance, I am confident that I can continue to excel in both areas in my future college.
