Koby Johnson '19 Recruiting Profile

Welcome to my profile! Let me introduce myself. My name is Koby Johnson. I am a Senior attending Grantsville High. Entering my 8^th year of wrestling I have some big goals I want to accomplish my senior year. I have been fortunate to have some amazing opportunities this year so far, for example being invited to wrestle at the 2019 Dollumar Utah High School All-Star Duals and winning my match. It was an incredible and unforgettable moment! In my experience I have learned how to be true to myself, dedicated, dependable and a leader. Wrestling has also taught me that you need to work hard for what you want. Nothing is given to you and I have picked up the “How Bad Do You Want It!” mentality. Some of my goals include finishing High School with a 3.9 or above GPA, winning state and continuing to focus on myself to reach my goals. Not placing at State my Freshman or Sophomore year were some of the most heartbreaking times I have been through in my wrestling career. It has taught me how to overcome adversity of losing and not getting what I want, to turning it around to a good season. Taking 3^rd at State my Junior year is the highlight of wrestling career. Putting a solid season together and reaching a goal I had been trying to achieve since I got into high school was amazing. Being a Team Captain since my Sophomore year has not only given me the opportunity to be a leader for my team but has also taught me so much about myself and what it takes to be a leader. Given the opportunity I know I can be a great attribute to your team as I am self-driven, a hard worker, and very dedicated to being at the top. I take value in being someone that others thrive to surround themselves with. Look forward to hearing from you!
