Personal Statement
My name is Michael Isaac Procter-Yates. I go by my middle name Isaac. I am 5'6" and I wrestle at 132 pounds. I walk around at 136 pounds. My Junior year I wrestled at 126 pounds and competed in the state tournament. My record for my Junior year was 26 and 14, leading my team in most pins, wins and technical falls. I have been a captain every year at the high school and as our school has rotated through coaches, I have been there to bring people out to the program. My goals at college level wrestling are to win a national title and to prepare for world level wrestling. My academic goals are to graduate with a Bachelors degree in either mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering and than to continue my education and get my Masters. Having been in a leadership role for so long, I understand that to better yourself you also need to help the team and grow as a team. One reason I love the sport of wrestling is because it taught me to be humble through losses on and off the mat. I also learned that through every failure there is room to improvement, and even through most successes there is room for improvement. I am running start student which means when I graduate I will graduate with my AA. I believe that I will be a great asset to any college program.
