Connor Vickrey '22 Recruiting Profile

I started Wrestling when I was 4 years old and developed a love of the sport that has kept me wrestling since. Through all the ups and downs of life wrestling has consistently been there for me in any hard times. That love of the sport keeps me dedicated to achieve greatness.  I have won 3 state titles( one in cadet freestyle, and two in High school).  I also lettered all three years in high school, and have been a two time all-state selection. I have always been motivated to do anything and everything it takes to reach my goals. Since my sophomore year have been a leader and team captain of my wrestling team.  I have always had a passion to better my teammates and the team in general. Over the summer I had the opportunity to wrestle in Greece and train with world silver medalist Bilyana Dudava. In the rest of my high school career I plan to win 1 more state title and become an All-American. I also plan to score at least 25 on the ACT and graduate with a GPA above 3.0. After college I plan to become a teacher and to coach wrestling. 

Through the challenges of Covid I have been persistent with pursuing wrestling. In spite of these events being canceled I had planed to attend Fargo and AAU national duals. I was however, able to organize a trip with my team to attend a camp hosted by Bryce Meredith. In the fall of last year I competed at Utah's Preseason Open and USA's Bigfoot Battle. In these tournaments I competed at a national level where I was able to get mat time and find out what I needed to work on in my high school season.
