Grant Rakers '22 Recruiting Profile

    My name is Grant Rakers and I am in the class of 2022. At a young age my parents realized my athletic ability and enrolled me in multiple sports. I played baseball beginning at four years old, followed by football, basketball and cross country throughout middle school. After my freshman year in high school I have now narrowed my sports activities to pursue my life long passion for baseball.  

    Over the years I have been honing my baseball skills as well as developing as a leader both on and off the field. I have served in the Altar Sever Ministry at my church, served as Chaplain for my basketball team,  served as a prayer leader for First Priority and was active in FCA. I was the captain of our OMMS Cross Country Team and have served 4 years as an elected officer in our school SGA. I have been awarded the Character with Character Award,  volunteered with numerous service projects and was inducted into the Junior National Honor Society for achieving high academic honors. 

    My academic aptitude, quick thinking and athleticism makes me an excellent center fielder.  I have the ability to read the ball out of the hands of the pitcher and the speed to track down potential doubles in the gap.  I am a smart base runner who led my middle school team in stolen bases. I ended the year with a batting average of .421 with many extra base hits.

    I am ultimately looking for an academically challenging college/university with an excellent business program.  I also want a school with an  equally successful baseball program who is looking for a center fielder in the class of 2022.
