Personal Statement

I want to continue my academic and baseball career at the college level at an institution that meets both my academic and athletic abilities. I am thinking of either studying pharmacy or finance in college. I currently have a 4.63 GPA and I am enrolled in AP classes and dual enrollment classes in my junior year at Casteel High School. I was an honorable mention All-Region selectee my sophomore year and I have been a starting pitcher on my varsity squad beginning in my freshman year. I take great pride in being the hardest working person in the weight room in the offseason. I am also on pace to complete 100 hours of community service through my school districts IMPACT Program. I currently have a part time job at Sprouts where I work about 10-15 hours a week to set money aside to continue my education after high school.

This was another great tournament with T-Rex. I had a good weekend at the plate and on the mound. I went 4 for 9 with 2 doubles, 5 BB and a SF. On the mound, I threw four innings on 58 pitches. I struck out 6 and gave up 1 hit and 0 ER. This was especially cool because we had time to ride the roller coaster and other rides in Vegas when we weren't playing ball. It seemed like all of us had a good time.

This was a great experience. It started out with the All-Academic tryout on Thursday. There were lots of great pitchers there and unfortunately I didn't get selected to play in the game. However, I had a monster tournament with T-Rex the rest of the weekend. At the plate, I finished 4 for 6 with a BB and a SF. I had two singles, a double and a triple and had 6 RBI. I only pitched two innings as we had quite a few pitches on staff. My first outing was 1 inning, 3K's and 2 groundball outs. (we faced 5 batters in this showcase format). My second outing was this morning and I wasn't as sharp but still had a good time. I did give up a run on two hits and an error and had 1K. I am super excited to continue to play with T-Rex and will be going to Las Vegas with them at the end of the month.

Had a great tournament filling in with T-Rex out of Arizona. Went 2 for 5 at the plate with a couple singles. Had 1BB and one sacrifice bunt. On the mound, I was limited to 2 innings as unfortunately we didn't advance to Monday play. 2 IP, 1H, 4K, 1BB, 0 R, 0 ER.
