Personal Statement
My name is Eric Unterkofler. I am a 6'2" first baseman and outfielder (learning third base) from Tempe, Arizona. I attend Chandler Preparatory Academy in Chandler, Arizona. CPA is a college prep high school, where all classes are taught at the honors level. I have an un-weighted 4.0 (weighted 4.8) average and have achieved a 1440 on my first SAT, and a 33 on my first ACT exam. I have recently earned the commendation of National Merit Scholar. I am currently a 3 year starter at first base, where I have also played a bit of outfield and have pitched. I am a dedicated student/athlete who is not afraid to work hard and put in the extra time both in the classroom and on the field. In addition to baseball, I play USTA tennis in the Southwest region. My current summer club baseball team is Bluechip.
In addition to athletics, I am currently in school Men's choir, Honors choir, Jazz band, and, along with three other classmates, have formed and playing piano in a jazz quartet, where we play coffee houses in the local area. I was an All Academic Baseball Athllete (https://www.sports360az.com/2019/06/2019-sports360az-all-academic-baseball-team/) with a 4.88 weighted average (honors level) out of 4.0
Update: October, 2018. I was awarded the National Merit Commended Scholar as a result of my scores on the PSAT/NMSQT exam.
Update: May 15, 2019. One of 10 ten seniors who had a perfect GPA while taking all honors classes. The link below refers to the story.

Update: I am taking a year to train hard in the gym to improve my strength and agility, and to grow into my body before making a final decision about my baseball career.
