It's been a slow start to my outdoor season. Back in December, I strained my hamstring and I'm still experiencing its effects. It's frustrating as an athlete to be held back by injuries, knowing that I put in months of hard work in the preseason. But through the grace of God, I've learned to be patience and stay diligent in my training. This is what separates me from any other athlete. I am deeply devoted to this sport. I have a genuine joy for running track. I enjoy the atmosphere and I love the comradery of the team during the practices and the meets. I listen to all my coaches and do what I'm told the first time. I am willing to look at my imperfections and take constructive criticism positively. In each race, my goal is to beat my PR. This is what drives me to train constantly and to perfect my mechanics. Not only do I work hard on the track, but I also work hard in the classroom. I attend a college prep school that offers an advanced and rigorous curriculum and have maintained a 4.0 Unweighted GPA so far. My mom always tells me that my brain is going to take me places, not my legs. Using my God given gift, I plan to study Engineering while running track at a D1 college.
