Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Braeden Wallace and I will be a senior at Calvary Chapel High School PSP and completing my fourth year in Classical Conversations during the 2015-2016 year. I am 5'11' and weight 165 pounds. Since my early baseball years, I have always strove to excel in this sport while dreaming of playing at the collegiate level and beyond.
I transferred to Calvary Chapel High School my sophomore year and earned a starting position on the varsity team. Prior to transfering to Calvary, I played for Longshots travel program in the Chicago area. My sophomore year, I played right field along with pitcher. I was the starting shortstop my junior year, but sadly, mid-season I broke my hand diving back to second base. Receiving top-notch care from a premier sports hand specialist, I am now fully recovered and back on the field as the starting shortstop. Experiencing this injury, I learned perseverence and determination. I possess the confidence, dedication and ambition to play and succeed at the next level. My goal is to earn academic and athletic scholarships to help fund my education.
Off the field, I spend my free time volunteering at Miracle League for special needs youth, FCA Baseball youth summer and winter camps, Leos Club, and I also serve in leadership at PowWow, a highschool baseball only FCA group. I am working on a Congressional Medal Award. I am employed at a local CrossFit gym.
