Alexander Kim '28 Recruiting Profile

My name is Alexander James Kim, graduating class of 2028.  I am super excited to talk about my college dreams and why I would be a great fit for your baseball team.  Even though I am just an 8th grader, I've got big goals and aspirations that make me stand out from the crowd.

First off, I want you to know that I am all about teamwork and being a good person.  I've been part of community service projects at school, and I try to be a leader by setting a good example.  I think it's extremely important to be honest and respectful in everything I do.  Team spirit and sportsmanship mean a lot to me, and I'll do my best to help create a positive team culture, on and off the field.  

Baseball is my passion, and I continue to work hard to get better at it each and every day.  I practice hitting, fielding, catching, and pitching every chance I get. I'm always ready to learn and improve my skills.  I can play different positions and adapt to different game situations.  When the game gets tough, I don't give up as I always try to push myself to be the best at everything I do.  I love a good challenge and I'm not afraid to work hard to overcome it.  

School is extremely important to me and I've been taking tough recommended classes my school counselor has put together for me that will give me the best chance of getting into good universities.  I have been able to maintain a straight A average and it is my goal to keep it that way through High School.  I understand that balancing school, sports, and other extracurricular activities can be challenging, but I continue to learn how to manage my time and stay on top of things.  I believe that being an exceptional athlete is just as important as being an exceptional student.  

So what sets me apart?  Well, I think it's my mixture of character, athletic skills, dedication to school, and most importantly, my faith in God.  I'm not the best at everything, but my dad tells me all the time that I always need to strive in wanting to be the best at everything I do to be successful.  I believe that having a positive attitude, being a team player, and never giving up are just as important as raw talent.  Plus, I'm not just looking for a college just to play baseball, I want to be part of a University that helps me grow as a person, a baseball player and prepares me for life after college.  

My college dreams are all about working hard on and off the field.  I'm an 8th grader with a big heart for the game, a strong character, a love for learning, and the determination to make a difference.  I can't wait to see where my journey takes me but I hope it includes being part of your awesome baseball team!  Thank you for your time and consideration.
