Personal Statement

Hi, I’m 18 years old and live in Murrieta, CA. I attend Murrieta Mesa High School, Class of 2024. I am a senior and third year varsity baseball player. I am a utility player and can play anywhere you put me but my primary position is catcher. My goal is to play as a catcher in college. I’ve been playing baseball since I was 4 and it is my biggest passion. I am very committed to putting in the hard work to get to the next level both physically and academically. I give 100% of myself on and off the baseball field. I am a good candidate for any team I play for because I work hard and give 100% and I back up and support all my teammates. What makes me different from other recruits in athletics is that I keep my emotion off the field and just play the game I love. Winning or losing I keep it together and get the job done. Academically, I’m a great student. I might not be the top of my class, but I stay focused, get my work done and at the end of the day my parents are proud of me.

Brayden Ferguson C - 2024 - Murrieta, CA Uncommitted Ferguson is an enticing athlete that performed well in game. Solid runner and defensive profile. Can hit in any part of the order with his quick bat. Just a do-it-all type of player that impacts the game. Brayden Ferguson (2024, Murrieta, CA) had a polished round with some physical strength gains that can only add to his offensive upside. Worked it to all fields and showed solid barrel control through the zone. Solid contact at the plate and good extension out front. Good presence. Was ranked a Top Prospect. Was ranked in top 60yd. Was ranked in top exit velo, Catcher pop time, catcher velo. Will be 4-5 weeks before I’m graded and will update those numbers

04/03/2022 - All-In Membership - San Jacinto, CA Brayden recently became a can’t miss prospect in the 2024 class. This talented two-way player impressed scouts with his actions behind the plate, on the mound and at 3rd.. As a catcher, there is a lot to like. He has excellent catch and throw (91 velo/1.87 pop) skills. His ball has accuracy and life to shut down the running game. His body and hands are strong and is quiet in his receiving. He can maintain the strike zone and presents an athletic low target. Runs well for a catcher (7.10 60 yd). On the mound, he has a fast arm and gathers his body well. His FB topped at 80 and scouts believe there is more in the tank. His CB sat 67-71 with 10/4 shape and can become an out pitch. His CH sat 65-9 with good extension. Gaining more time on the mound will develop command for his pitches. At 3rd, he has active/light feet and agile movements. Fields in a low athletic position with soft hands and advanced pocket feel. As a hitter, he is smooth with great feel. Has exceptional balance and his swing is simple. His hands are fast and his short/direct approach demonstrates hard line drive contact to the middle of the field. Overall, Brayden had an impressive day and scouts feel colleges will be competing for a college commitment shortly.
