Henry Vidak '22 Recruiting Profile

I come from a family of educators and athletes. On both sides of family college sports has been played. My Mother lettered at UCLA in track and cross country for four years. She was also a State champion in track the 800 meters in high school. My Father was a three sport athlete in high school and played football and baseball at the College of the Sequoias in Visalia, California. In addition, he coached seven years of Junior College football and basketball. He also has coached high school sports. My grandfather on my Mother's side, Hank Roldan played football and ran track as a scholarship athlete at Stanford. My uncle John Roldan also ran track at Stanford. 

Athletics is in my blood. I love competing and enjoy the hard work it takes to earn your spot. Unfortunately, baseball ended in California for us in March 2020. I felt like I was just getting to the point of throwing harder and hitting spots. My bat was coming along and I was seeing the ball. It all ended in March. Not knowing when I was going to hit the field again I decided to get stronger. My dad and I built a weight room and outdoor fitness area. I decided I was going to come out of quarantine stronger and better. I am now lifting more then I ever thought I would. I continued to work in hope of a football season. We were just told we won't be playing. I play free safety and corner. I was prepared where others were not.

It is baseball season again and my hard work has paid off. The improvements I have made will make me a successful player. My character shows in my hard work and dedication which is a direct reflection of my gains in athleticism. I work hard in the classroom and do my very best. 

My goal is to play for a college who wants, respects and can make me a better student/athlete. I love to play baseball and would be honored to continue to play.
