My name is Ty Bennett and I am a part of the class of 2024. I am attending East Jackson Comprehensive High School. I have played the sport of baseball practically my whole life starting with tee ball all the way up to travel ball and the varsity level. A longtime goal of mine has always been to play college baseball. My dad really sparked this into me because of his love for the game and because he played college baseball himself. Baseball has always been a big part of my life not only because we have spent a lot of our weekends at the ball field, but also a big chunk of it has been spent practicing to get better in this competitive world we live in. The game has taught me that failure sucks, but the successes are sweet and that's why I strive to be the best I can. I have learned to take risks and not be afraid to fail, because if you are afraid to do so, you can never go that far in life. The game has also taught me to believe in myself. It is easy to fail in this game, but if you believe in yourself and don’t back down you can achieve your goals. These are the reasons why playing collegiately has always been one of my major goals. It is easy to be intimidated by the competition, but if you bear down and face the adversity it will teach you to do this in other more important aspects of your life.
