Justen Newsom '22 Recruiting Profile

I grew up as a two-sport student-athlete, playing baseball and basketball since I was 4 years old. In 2020 I decided to put all my focus on preparing to play college baseball. I graduated from Harrison High School in 2022 with honors and 2x academic athlete. I pursued my academic and athletic career at Coastal Alabama South Community College. My goal was to gain experience, grow mentally and physically as a college athlete. I have successfully made the transition as a college student athlete maintaining high academic standards and producing consistently on and off the field. In the summer of 2024, I will have completed my sophomore year at the JUCO level, therefore seeking a four-year university to continue my collegiate academic and athletic career. 

I have a 3.80 GPA, making the Presidents List with a 4.00 GPA in Fall 2022. My performance in spring 2023 in 36 games was 111 PA, 96 AB, .250 AVG, .351 OBP, .768 OPS, .417 SLG, 38% XBH including 3 HR. I played summer ball May - June 2023 in Pensacola, Florida in the Hangout League for the Koastal Krabs, batting .308 AVG, .438 OPS, .423 SLG with 6 SB in 15 games 32 PA, 26 AB. 

I am dependable and accountable, bringing leadership, on-field experience with mental and physically maturity. This is what makes me a complete teammate and player. I will make a great addition to your ball club.
