Personal Statement

My name is Denton Lord and I am a 6'2'', 195 lb. pitcher and first basemen. I have been playing baseball for as long as I remember and it has always been my goal to play it at the highest level I can. I am a hard worker in all aspects of my life. I have a 4.0 GPA at St. Andrew's School and take academics as seriously as I do athletics. In all my years in varsity baseball and my freshman year on the JV basketball team, I was awarded the Scholar Athlete Award for the team.

At St. Andrew's School, I have always been a first baseman, but on the varsity level, my main contribution is through pitching. I have found playing time as a pitcher on the varsity level in both my freshman and sophomore years. In my sophomore year, I was able to play a key role in the bullpen and record multiple saves and other quality outings. I was also an honorable mention for All-Region for 2A SCISA and played in the FCA All Star Game in Savannah, Georgia. My junior year, I was moved to the top of the pitching rotation, where I was able to contribute greatly and pitched many crucial games for us, all the way up to the Final Four of the state playoffs. Over the season, I pitched 45 innings and was able to keep my Earned Run Average around 1.00 the whole season. I was named to All-Region for my pitching and first base, while also earning our team's Cy Young Award.

I have had a decent high school career so far, but I still believe I have lots of room to get better as a player. I also know I still have a long way to go and have much more to work on. However, I genuinely love the game and plan to keep working to extend my baseball career as long as I possibly can.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
