Maclain Neal '16 Recruiting Profile

My family understands and strongly values academic achievement.  I have two older sisters in college, both of my parents are college graduates, and my dad also has a post-graduate degree.  So, I am surrounded by good examples and have always worked hard in the class room.  My personal goal is to attend a school that develops both my critical thinking and helps me grow as a person, so that I have the best shot at being successful after my college years.  I am also committed to playing baseball during college at the highest level possible, feeling the best is still ahead of me.  More than anything, I want to contribute to a competitive collegiate team and hopefully win a baseball championship.  I've been taught to respect the game and the importance of doing the little things, both on and off the field.  I'm a versatile player with game experience at second and third base, shortstop, outfield and even pitcher.  Others describe me as a hard-nosed, scrappy player who respects his teammates and coaches.  For the right combination of academic and baseball opportunity, I am willing to accept a walk-on offer.
