Personal Statement

My name is Dustin Tomas and I want to continue playing baseball in college and who knows, maybe I will make it in the pros! I know most kids who play baseball say they want to play in the pros, but I have not given up on that dream yet. I hope to make it a reality. I am a late bloomer and I think the best is yet to come. Incase I don't make it in the pro's, my backup plan is to go to college, and major in a Pre-Medical course of study.

I am the hardest worker you will every meet. Things may not always come easy for me, but I will work my butt off to reach my goals. When I wanted to play travel baseball, the first couple times I tried, I wasn't picked for the team. I know now that I was better than many of those other boys, but you can't compete with kids that have their dads coaching the team (and there seems to be at least 6 "coaches" on those teams). I know that just made me work harder and want to be better. It is funny, I look back at those teams.....most of those boys aren't even playing baseball any more.  When I have a game and I don't have a hit, I go out after the game and hit more! I am always trying to improve my game. If my dad can't pitch me balls, I hit off a tee or I find a teammate who also wants more practice.  Schoolwork does not always come easy to me either, but I put the work in and study....and get the job done! I am a leader on team. Our team doesn't have a great record, but we have a lot of close scoring games. I always try to keep the team fired up and positive. If you're negative, that hurts yourself and the team.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
