Hello, my name is Sam Petersen. I have been playing baseball since I was five. It is something that I am truly passionate about. My dream is to continue playing at the highest level possible. I would love to be a student athlete at a college where I can play baseball and receive a strong, quality education. I currently attend a selective enrollment college preparatory high school where I have a 4.7 GPA. I am a natural leader both on and off the field. Every coach I have played for has said I am one of the most coachable athletes they have ever had. I've been viewed as a utility player. Most recently I have been playing outfield, where my speed and ability to track balls have been helpful assets. I am committed to hard work and excelling in any position that my coach feels I would best help the team.
Unfortunately, in September of 2018, I suffered from a stress fracture in my spine. I have been resting and working with a physical therapist, who specializes in the spine, to get back to 100%. I have been diligent in doing my given workouts, and can't wait to get back to playing again soon.
