Baseball is my passion. Since the first time I stepped on the field, I was hooked. I knew from an early age that I was going to do everything possible to play this game for as long as I can. It meant that I needed to work as hard as possible to set myself up well for the future. I pride myself on my academic and athletic achievements. My hard work and dedication is shown through my good grades, ACT score, and baseball stats and achievements. As a Sophomore I received the MVP award for my school's Varsity team. In the summer of 2019, I was chosen to the Perfect Game All Tournament team for both hitting and pitching. Even as a late bloomer, I have put up the stats and achievements that kids bigger than I can put up as well. With continued growth and hard work into my development in the game, I will be an even better player than I am now, and a force to be reckoned with in the future.
I pride myself in my leadership on and off the field. On the field, I have been a leader on my high school team for multiple years now, being someone that all of the younger players can look up to. Next year, I will be the only senior on the team, putting myself in the biggest leadership role on the team. This leadership on the field will prep me to be a good leader into college and well into my career as well. Off the field, I am required to work 30 service hours a year. Many of those service hours come from helping students in school or by helping teachers or coaches with whatever they need. In 2019 I was honored to be a member of the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) conference, where I learned how to be a better leader. Learning how to balance my time between community service, school, and baseball has given me a valuable leg up over other students who might be overwhelmed by work load in college. The bottom line is, I am willing to do anything to continue playing this sport in college, and with my strong academics, athletic ability, community service, and leadership skills, I believe that I can do just that.
