Personal Statement
My name is Luke Evans. I come from a large family of seven kids. My siblings have taught me how to care for other people and the importance of having and being a positive role model. Ever since I was little, my goal was to play at the collegiate level. I have worked hard to strengthen myself mentally and physically. I had a rough summer season as a 14 year-old. From that experience, I have become mentally stronger on and off the field. I learned not to let negative voices get in my head and believe in my ability. I strive to be a leader everyday. I stand up for what is morally right under any circumstance and was honored to be given the award for the Most Christian Athlete coming out of middle school.
I am looking for a college that will be a good fit for me academically and athletically. I strive to keep a high GPA and continue to be considered a leader. I work hard on and off the field to succeed in everything I do. I strongly believe in the mental side of the game. I believe players these days do not prepare theirselves mentally before games. I am would love to attend a college that believes the mental side is just as important as the physical side. I want to attend a college that has a good work ethic and strong resolute to form it’s players, not only as baseball players, but as young men.
