Greetings, my name is Trevor Orton and I am a 15 year old freshman out of Lansing Christian School in Michigan. I strive to make it to the next level of athletics due to the fact I love to compete, as well as athletics are not only fun, but they also teach important life lessons such as dealing with adversity, working hard, as well as commodity and how to develop relationships with people. I believe the last one of those is incredibly crucial in life, as you can get many places if you know how to talk to people, and there is no better way to learn that than from athletics.
I have played baseball since I was 9 years old, and ever since my first inning I fell in love with it, as I especially love the mental aspect of the game, the fact that people can be athletic but not perform due to not having it up there, and that is something I work on everyday myself. Throughout the years, I have really focused on learning the fundamentals of the game and correct mechanics, as I have had great coaches who have really enforced that.
Though I am only a freshman, I have worked extremely hard in school up to this point and currently hold a 3.91 GPA (unweighted) and my education is something I truly care about, as I know in the end that is what will get me places.
I strive to go into school and learn to be a sports writer, as I have always enjoyed writing about athletics and the many narratives they provide, as they can leave everlasting memories.
As I enter my freshman year on varsity, I hope to learn a lot from being able to play at a higher level early, as I have several upperclassmen who are phenomenal mentors and I hope to learn from them as much as possible, as that knowledge is something I will need when I am older and am relied on to be a leader on the team.
Thank You For Your Time,
Trevor Orton
