Personal Statement
I believe that baseball has taught me many valuable lessons that I will carry with me through my life. It's given me specific characteristics that I don't think I could learn anywhere else. It's taught me the importance of having a good work ethic and to be committed to all things that you set out to do, whether in life or in sports. It's given me the opportunity to learn team leadership, how to be there for your brothers on the field; leading them into battle every game. It has also taught me how to have quiet confidence in myself. Not letting anyone else set my limits, but being able to dictate my outcome through hard work and dedication to my craft. Being able to find positives even in the bad and learning from them, only to help me succeed in the future when another obstacle arises. It has taught me how to handle victory as well as failure with class. That no matter the outcome of the game, I will play it the right way, respect my opponents, and be there to pick up my team immediately afterwards. The joy, family, and memories that it has brought to my life, are things that I will forever hold dear to my heart.
I wish to further my education in college in a form of a health science major in preparation for a future career in physical therapy. I also hope to be given the opportunity to play this game I love for a few more seasons. I would be honored to be able to call your school home and represent what you stand for as a university.
