Personal Statement
Ever since I was young, I can remember wanting to be on a baseball field, playing in front of large amounts of people. So since I have always had this dream, I have always strived to make it come true. Growing up, anytime I played a game, whether it be on a field, a court or in the classroom, I have been that one kid that strives to be first and or the best I could possibly be.
I know I would be a great candidate for most college baseball teams because I bring a great atmosphere to any area I am in. I am not the type of player to give up or stop playing, just because I make an error or my team is down on the scoreboard. I have a tremendous amount of heart, talent and willpower to compete with the best athletes around. I am very coachable and I am always taking criticism and correcting what needs to be fixed.
From an athletic standpoint I hit a high-point during my freshman year, when I truly fell in love with baseball and began to think about taking things to the next level. Ever since freshman year, I have hit in the 3-hole where I have held an batting average above .430. As a 3-hole hitter, I am constantly put in the position to work under pressure and with runners in scoring position. The last two seasons I have combined for 14 RBI's, 22 runs scored over the span of 18 games. On the defensive side of things I began to play outfield and would swap between OF and third base. But those positions are not the only one's I am capable of playing, I am a ball player willing to play wherever I am needed.
Academics are very important to my family and I. In the seventh grade my parents moved me into a private school where I could get the most out of my educational career. Although my grades are not bad, I know I can always work to improve them in some way. I would love to go to school and get a degree in Sports Medicine or a Business degree. I am completely aware that baseball will not always be there to lean on so I understand that my education comes first.
