Jackson Poage '25 Recruiting Profile

      My name is Jackson Poage. I am a student athlete from Duncan, Oklahoma. I play baseball and football. While I primarily focus on baseball, I do compete on the varsity football team. I am class of 2025 and my primary position is catcher and outfield. I have played baseball since I was four and college baseball has always been a dream of mine. I enjoy catching due to the leadership roles you must fulfill. The tough mentality and true team player aspect of the position is what makes it fun for me. I love working hard and seeing what successes hard work can earn you. I am a huge team player and would do just about anything to insure my teams success. Not only am I an athlete, I take pride in my academics as well. I have held a 4.0 GPA through two years of high school and have a 25 on my ACT. My parents instilled in me the importance of academics at a young age. Although I love baseball, I understand that academics have to be taken care of in order to be a respected, well-rounded student athlete. 

     A few core values to me include respect and trustworthiness. I believe you must show respect to be respected. Respect, to me, comes in many different ways on and off the field. Rather it be being polite to teachers and coaches or being an example in public and on social media. Trustworthiness is another core value to me. Trust is one of the most important things to me as a student athlete. I trust my coaches and teachers to do their job and get me where I need to be. I also allow my coaches and teachers to trust me in getting school work done on time and getting my athletic duties accomplished.
