My name is James Furchner. My primary position is Catcher, secondary is 3rd base. I play for American Legion Post 320 in Rapid City, SD. I want to pursue baseball at the next level to build more life experiences, make great memories and make college life more fun. I hope to bring my talent to a team that will help them succeed. I want to continue playing the game I love.
I currently have a cumulative GPA of 3.5. I take dual enrollment college courses. I understand how important it is to be a hard-working athlete AND student. I am a team player, team leader and am very coachable. I also enjoy weightlifting. I currently lift 315 pounds on bench press, 435 pounds on squat and 500 pounds deadlift. I am also an active member at my church, South Canyon Lutheran.
I want to peruse a higher education so that I can get a job that I love, a job that I can provide for my family and a job that will set my kids up for a good future. I am currently looking at a career in business or in the medical field.
