Good day - My name is Armando R. delaGarza, currently attending Lyford High School and set to be graduating in 2024 and looking forward to playing baseball at the college level. I’m currently 5’10”, weighting about 160lbs., a utility player who throws right-handed and is a switch hitter. Baseball has always been a passion of mine, so much that my first word was ball not mom or dad; but ball. I’ve been playing recreationally since I could hold a ball and competitively since I was 4 years old. My freshman year I made Varsity; I played several different positions basically wherever my coaches needed me and was awarded 1st Team All District – Designated Hitter. Knowing that to play college baseball, I’ve always stayed on top of my academics. In elementary I was in the Gifted & Talented program, in 6th grade I was awarded the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) award, in the 8th grade I took Pre-AP Algebra I and was inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. Now, that I’m in high school, I‘ve taken an AP course every year, in either math or science and I’ve been an Honor Roll recipient most all six weeks. Therefore, with the continued dedication to both my schooling and baseball, I have faith my dream to play college ball will soon become a reality.
