2023 Highlights Personal Statement
My Name is Ryder Gara, I am a 9th grader at Atlee high school. I have worked hard to achieve straight A’s throughout all grades and stayed at the top of my game in my baseball. I take both very seriously and put in the effort needed to excel. My strengths on the field include a strong, accurate arm and speed. I am a team player with a positive attitude on and off the field. I rally my team win/lose and never lose my cool in tough situations. I am a starting second base player, RH pitcher, and I put runs on the board almost every game. My dream is to play college ball at the highest level possible for me and continue my education.

- 08/06/2023 - National Showcase - Glen Allen (Richmond), VA Ryder is a wiry 2B/RHP who has a promising future on the on the diamond. At 2B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 68-69 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 4 years to further develop, Ryder has potential with time and room to progress his game.
