Competing in the regional quarter final in my sophomore year as an 8th seed and beating the #1 seed, 24-1, was definitely the highlight of my high school career. Playing 1st base, and going 4 for 6 with 6 RBI's was definitely a day I will never forget. However, I feel that I have grown the most as a student-athlete during this COVID virus and only completing two scrimmages before our season was taken away. Taking the passion that I love out of my life, made me do some soul searching and work harder to improve my weight, speed, grades and strength. When the restrictions were lifted, I also held batting sessions for the local Little League youth so they could continue to improve during this downtime, sometimes having 6-10 kids show up! I love sharing my passion for baseball.
I have played baseball since I was 5 years old, and my parents say that I live, eat and breathe baseball. I have always been very active in the sports community in our small town. As a little leaguer, I would stay after my games or spend off-days at the fields volunteering as the scorekeeper or announcer. My parents even purchased a little pre-paid flip phone to keep track of me when I was 10, because I was at the fields more than I was at home. Through the years as I have grown older, I still announce or keep score but also help assist in coaching the little league teams, as well as volunteer to umpire in my downtime. It is my goal to play baseball at the collegiate level and would love the opportunity where ever it may be!
