Mason Steppe '27 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Mason Steppe from Stanardsville Va. Im a dual sport athlete, football (TB/Corner) and baseball (middle infield/catcher/utility). However, baseball is my dream and passion.  My mother was five months pregnant with me running around the softball field. I was six weeks old attending softball games .

My personal experience with baseball, I started with T ball at four years old, moved up to coach pitch and then kid pitch. I played league baseball until I was eight, then started my travel ball life. 9-11 years old I played under Coach Josh Deaver, (former RHP, Radford) for Blueridge Highlanders. At 12, I got invited to go play with the Elite Invaders team, under Coach Justin Byrd, played a spring/summer/fall season with them before getting yet another invite. Summer 2022, played 13u Camo Dirtbags (Forest,Va) as an older 12 year old, under Coach Jimmy, where I was starting Shortstop and lead off batter.

This Spring I will be trying out for the JV baseball team as an 8th grader, at William Monroe High School and will also be continuing travel ball season with the Dirtbags summer/fall. 

My dream like any other athlete with the love for the game is the next level. I’m working hard to make it REALITY!
