My name is Declan Englund, I’m a Junior at Bellevue Christian in Washington State, class of 2025. My primary positions are Shortstop and Third Base. Last year (sophomore year) I received First Team All-League and ranked 9th in the state for batting average for sophomores (.424 avg) and top 50 for RBIs in Washington, both at the varsity level. In addition to training at least five days a week in the off-season, I play for Lakeside Recovery’s Premier/Legion Team (winner of the 2023 American Legion state tournament WA). I am currently 5’9” and weigh 165 lbs. While Baseball is my passion, I also take my academics seriously with a 3.92 unweighted GPA, including Honors Chemistry and taking AP Physics this year.
I am grateful for Baseball because it has taught me the importance of hard work and discipline. I also love that unlike other sports, there are times when you are the only person that can change the outcome of a baseball game, and I want to be that guy. I perform well under pressure and every challenge I’ve faced has made me hungrier to play at the next level. Winning games and having fun with teammates is an unbeatable feeling for me, and one I hope to take into college. This off-season I am working each day to become a more well-rounded five tool player. I also want to grow as a leader on the field, helping take my high school team to its second state championship.
