As a cheerleader, I understand the importance of leadership and teamwork, and I have been able to develop those skills through my experience in the sport. Growing up as the youngest of three in a competitive athletic family, I have always strived to be the best that I can be. After 10 years of dance and 5 years of gymnastics, I discovered cheerleading, which perfectly combined the dance and tumbling elements that I loved. Through my involvement in cheerleading, I have learned how to lead others through coaching, and have discovered my love for the team aspect of the sport. I have also realized that I am more competitive than I thought, and I am always striving to improve my skills and techniques.
Academically, my goal for high school is to graduate with higher than a 4.0 GPA, and in college, I hope to find a career that allows me to teach. As a cheerleader, I possess unique characteristics such as being fearless when it comes to trying new stunts, and I have been able to use this fearlessness to push myself to new heights in the sport.
In addition to being a competitive cheerleader, I have also been a youth assistant tumbling instructor, and a head coach for a novice all-star tiny level team where I taught and mentored young cheerleaders. These experiences have allowed me to develop my leadership skills and passion for teaching, and I am excited to bring these skills to a collegiate squad. I am also an elected student council member for my high school class, and I enjoy collaborating with my peers on school events.
Cheerleading has helped me to discover my passion for team sports and teaching. I am working hard to gain new skills to improve my competitive edge, and I am confident that I have the talent, dedication, and enthusiasm to excel as a college cheerleader and make a positive impact on my team. Thank you for considering me for your squad.
