My whole life I have been fascinated with cheerleading and performing in front of an audience. I have been on a cheer team since I was 6 years old in elementary school. I have cheered at the recreational, school, and competitive level and I aspire to cheer at the collegiate level. I would not be the cheerleader that I am today without the support and encouragement from my cheer coaches, tumble coach, and athletic director. I work hard year round cheering during football and basketball season to sustain my cheer, stunting, and tumbling skills, as well as adding new skills in the gym, at cheer clinics, and at practice.
I love being part of a team that is focused on working together and getting the crowd involved on game days! Making Varsity as a Sophomore was a highlight for me because I love cheering under the Friday night lights! Building trusting relationships with my teammates makes us push each other to be the best that we can be. I am a coachable athlete and am always looking for ways to be the best cheerleader that I can be. I received the Cheerleader of the Year award my Freshman and Sophomore year, as well as the Blue and Gold Sprit Award and Captain's Choice Award both years. During NCA summer cheer camp, my sophomore and junior year, I received the Pin-it forward award. I also tried out and made the NCA All- American cheer team, as well as was nominated by my coaches to attend Cheer Hawaii. My coaches have also recommended me to try out for All-Region this year, with my end goal being on the All-State cheer team.
I'm not only motivated by cheerleading, but I work hard and give my best effort in the classroom by taking Honors and AP classes, as well college courses. I plan to attend a four year university and major in Psychology, with hopes of being a Clinical Child Psychologist after graduating with my Master's degree. Balancing my rigorous academic work load, alongside my extra-curriculars, and part-time job, has helped me learn to be organized and responsible, therefore preparing me for my post graduate goal of cheering at the collegiate level.
