My name is Olivia Moyer and I am 16 years old. I am an athlete who constantly works towards improving my skills as a player. I enjoy playing because it has allowed me to meet some of my best friends, helps me to manage my time by requiring me to remain organized as I balance school, athletics, work, and community service. It also allows me to have something I love to do after school. This past field hockey season I was awarded a Section One Athletics All-League award for defense and for stepping up when asked to do so by my coach. Some of my qualities are that I am a very versatile player. I had played forward my first two years on my varsity team. When my coach needed me to play defense, I did what was needed and had to quickly learn how to play defense. After watching me on defense and liking how I played there, I was ultimately moved to that position for the rest of my junior year. I also played midfield and defensive-mid when needed. Along with this, I am also very coachable. I pick up on how to do something very fast and correct myself when I do something wrong. I work not just for myself, but for my team. I always make sure I am putting in the most effort I can during games and practices, and encourage others to do so as well, so we as a whole are being successful as a team.
I would like to go to a school on the east coast so that I can be close to my family. Family is extremely important to me. I am looking into studying something in the field of science. The areas I am very interested in are Biochemistry, Neuroscience, or Astronomy.
I don't have a preference to what division I play, just as long as I am able to play is what matters the most to me. My ultimate goal is to be able to play as a freshman, which I know will take a lot of hard work and dedication to achieve that.
