Personal Statement
I am no different from your typical teenage boy. In no particular order video games, sports, school and family have always been my interest but one thing separates me from my fellow teens is my love for history. Not many teens would say history interests them. I have always found it very fascinating and at this time I would like to major in it when I attend college. My goal is to eventually teach history. At this time I have not decided whether to teach high school or college level. This year I am registered to take AP European History. It would be a challenge as a sophomore but like my dad always says if I put my head into it there's nothing I can't do. Another goal I have for this coming school year is to boost my grade point average and I am hoping that with the help of my step-mother I believe I will achieve that goal. I currently have a 3.14 GPA but hoping to bump it to a 3.5 by the end of this school year.
My dad has always been a big influence in my life. Always telling me what is right and wrong. Constantly giving my advice on how to do things and how to be a better person. As a middle schooler at St. Paul's School in Visalia, we were required to perform community service hours and that hasn't stopped at San Joaquin Memorial High School. With the help of my dad and step-mother, I've been volunteering at a soup kitchen called The Poverello House as well as volunteering with my dad at California Dental Association events where he provides free dental work. Helping the less fortunate makes me realize how lucky I am to have the life that I live.
I am not sure how much different I am from other reruits but all I know is I have put in the hard work this off season so that I can play as well as I can to help my team win. I've put some time in the weight room have been training 2 days a week with a personal trainer to increase my core strength and footwork so that I can have that extra first step against my opponents. I am looking forward to see the results on the field and this coming season can't come any sooner.
