Personal Statement

My name is Trent Tompkins from Central High School in Fresno, CA. I am a Junior class officer, and a 4.0 student.  I have played 3 sports, but narrowed it down to two for my junior year.  I was brought up to varsity for football during my freshman year, and also played varsity baseball as a freshman. My football team won its first CIF section championship in the 87 year history of the school.  We were runners up in the championship last season and finished 11-2. This season we finished 12-2 losing in the state Nor Cal semi-finals.  We also won our first outright league title in school history last season, and became the first team in league history to win back to back titles while being undefeated. Last season I threw for 3,118 yards 36 TD’s and rushed for 312 and 4 TD’s and broke all school records for passing in a season. This season I broke all season and career passing records for my school with 3,624 yards and 37 TD’s and 506 yards rushing with 5 TD’s. (sacks were counted as negative rushing yards each game.)

My parents are both in education, so I know how important school is. I come from a family of athletes. My grandfather was a professional baseball pitcher. My uncle and cousin were four year scholarship college baseball catchers. My mother was a college cheer leader. My father was a four year scholarship college basketball player, and was a BMX world champion at age 8. My other grandfather was a professional motor cycle racer. My goal is to be a college coach someday.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
