As only a sophomore I have seen not only improvement in my team but in myself as well from my freshman year. My freshman year of football I was coming off of a meniscus surgery I had on my knee the previous spring which I injured during baseball. I spent that summer in the weight room building back up strength and preparing for that season. I got a lot of varsity experience my freshman year at linebacker going from middle to outside. The difference though came from winning one game my freshman year to going 6-3 my sophomore year and qualifying for playoffs.
Personally comparing film and from playing I feel my improvement came from understanding the game more and making my reads, playing down hill. This is when I started thinking about college more after having our success. I want to be able to continue my athletic career and further my education at the next level. I enjoy the tempo of the game, getting after it on and off the field, the best feeling to me is running out onto the field on game night and the sound of pads cracking on contact in the back field. I love the exhilaration and energy I get on the field, between football and baseball, my other sport, I would love to play football first as long as I can. My coach and family have played a major part in my athletic career so far and I would be proud to represent both of them, my school and team wherever I go.
