I believe I am a student for others in many different ways. I am a leader in academics, on the football field and in everyday life. My academics play an important roll in my life. They, right now, are the most important part of my future. Without high grades and learning, it will be difficult to further advance to my goals. I plan to advance to a business/financial career after college. My ultimate goal is to play in the NFL!
I participate in helping students who may be a little less outgoing. Including these kids in everyday activity is important for their confidence. I have also been asked to tutor kids with lower class grades. This year I have been accepted to participate in the Unified Sports at Oxford High School.
On the football field, I am a leader. I have great passion for sports, especially football. I currently play Oxford High School Varsity football, along with a 7v7 high school league in the off season. My positions on the field are QB1, free safety and occasionally wide receiver. In the past 4 years I was recruited to play at the World Youth Football Championship in Canton, Ohio for 2 years in a row, DMAXX showcase in New York, and reached 1st place with CT Pride Football Club. Last year I also played Varsity Basketball and ran Varsity Track for 2 years, achieving all state for our teams 4x1.
In my everyday life, I help at home and with my younger brother, Liam. My parents work hard to give us what we need and what we desire. In return, I feel it is my responsibility to help with things I can. Whether it be cleaning, laundry, mowing the lawn, shoveling snow or just helping in general. It all makes a difference and less of a burden on my family. My younger brother is my best friend. I do anything I can to guide him in the right direction, the way my parents have guided me. I will do everything I can to make him successful as he grows.
Thank you for your consideration,
Matthew McGuire
