Dionte Edmonds '25 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing offensive and defensive lines for six years, and it has always been a perfect fit for me. I have an incredible explosion, power, excellent footwork, and great hands. I played high school varsity football for one year on both sides of the ball. This first year has taught me that I have the mentality to play at the next level. This mentality consists of being a leader, aggressive, hardworking, and dedicated to the game of football. Knowing that every man lined up in front of me is nowhere better than me gives me a drive like no other, puts me in beast mode. While possessing this mentality, I also understand the importance of teamwork and that pushing my teammates and myself makes us better as a unit. Knowing that teamwork is vital to my team and individual successes set me apart from the rest. Another attribute that sets me apart from other recruits is being able to code-switch, which gives me the ability to bring the energy and discipline expected of me on the field. The game of football has taught me skills, not only on the field but also off the field. I lead by example no matter where I am.

Finally, adapting and remaining comfortable in uncomfortable situations separates me from others. Regardless of the position I am placed in, I will never be uncomfortable. I am comfortable being uncomfortable and being put in awkward situations because it pushes me in a limitless upward direction. I’ve learned that no one has it all; there’s always more. Giving my all in every aspect of life is the one attribute that will continually push and keep me at the top of my game.
