Personal Statement
I have been a starter on the Lakeland Christian School Varsity Football team since I was a Freshman. That Freshman year, we made it to our first playoff birth in school history and went to the state semifinal round, but I took a physical beating, whether it was practice or games. Some games I would come home and ice my shoulders for hours due to the physicality they had been through, but it made me stronger. I realized the mental fortitude one needed to play football. I realized the work I would need to put it. I realized the pain that would come in the future. I look back at that year as being one of the best experiences of my life. It taught me how to be a man and how not to complain and gripe about life but to work to get better. Following my Freshman year, I was named Team Captain for my Sophomore, Junior, and now Senior year. My Junior year I was nominated to the 3A All-State 1st Team Defense. I bring the same intensity to my studies as I do football. My grades are one of the top in my class and I strive to continue my academic success. I want to find a college that will enable me to use my abilities to achieve success, both athletically and academically. I want college to be my springboard into a successful life, and any college that can offer me those opportunities, no matter size or division, I will consider.
