Ryan Pitra '15 Recruiting Profile

      My name is Ryan Pitra, I'm a senior at Geneseo High School, and I've spent three seasons as a starter for the Maple Leafs. I have played in 38 varsity games over my career.  This year I played tail-back & outside linebacker on a team that went 12-1 and made it to the semi-finals in class 5A.  I had a very successful year on both offense and defense.  My stats for this year include: 1215 yards rushing with an average of 7.9 yards a carry. I had 351 yards receiving on 17 catches.  I finished with 16 rushing TD'S & 5 receiving TD's.  I was named to the ALL-STATE TEAM in class 5A as a running back.  1st Team ALL-STATE EDGY TIM RB,   First Team ALL-CONFERENCE and Offensive MVP.   All -Metro First team and Metro Player of the Year. ALL WESTERN ILLINOIS First Team.                                                                                                                                    My stats for my junior year included: 96 Tackles, 4 Fumble Recoveries, 3 Ints (one returned for a TD), 11.5 Sacks (led the Conference & All Area Team), 8 TFLs, 7 Kick Returns for 257 yards (averaging 37 yards/return), 7.8 yards per carry as a running back, 1st Team Defense All-Conference, and 1st Team All-Area. As a team, we finished 2nd in state in class 4A.  We have one of the most decorated and respected football programs in Illinois.  Geneseo has a streak of 52 straight winning seasons, and I'm honored to be a part of Green Machine Football.

      Along with football, I'm a wrestler and I run track.  I've wrestled varsity since my freshman year, and my achievements include: 104 wins, state qualifier sophomore and junior years, placed 3rd in state at 182 lbs. junior year, 1st Team All-Conference, 1st Team All-Area, All-State Honors.  I am ranked #2 in the state starting my Senior Year.   As a team, we brought home trophies the past two consecutive years, placing second in class 2A.  In track, I've lettered all three years on varsity in the 100, 200, and relay events.

      I'm a versatile athlete.  I listen to my coaches, respect my teammates, and give 110%.  During the summer, I work hard on my own, as well as at programs and camps. I've always wanted to play college football, and I'm looking for a school that offers both athletic and academic opportunities.  I thrive under challenging expectations, and I'm not afraid of hard work.
