Personal Statement
I wanted to take a moment to tell you about myself and family. Both of my parents played collegiate athletics as did my two older siblings. My older brother Mitchell helped lead Grand View University to two final fours in men's volleyball, including a national runner-up. He had only played one year of organized volleyball and had only one scholarship offer. He ended up being a four year starter and all conference player. My sister Mariah had one Division I offer to also pay college volleyball. She was also a four year starter and all conference player and helped lead East Tennessee State University to two NCAA tournaments and three SOCON Championships, including the school's first ever at-large tournament bid after wins over Duke, Tennessee, and Washington State as a senior.
The reason I talk about my older siblings is let you know that one of the most valuable things I learned from watching them is to always follow your dreams and never let anything get in the way. I believe I could play collegiate football at a very high level, and that my potential to be successful is very high. I love everything about playing football.......the practices, workouts, lifting, being around my teammates, and getting better each and every day by being coachable and teachable.
I am a solid student that works hard in the classroom and strives to do the right thing on and off the field. You will never have to worry about my attendance at classes or getting into trouble off the field. My teammates selected me as a team co-captain for this season and it has made me realize more than ever how important my leadership is on and off the field. It also made me realize I have worked hard to earn that respect from fellow teammates.
