Personal Statement
I would first like to start off by saying if you are reading this I appreciate that you"re taking your time to see if I am an adequate player for your program. My name is Josh Simon and I am a senior at Malden High school. I wish to either study Business Management, Economics, or Criminal Justice in College and I want to graduate with a degree in my field. I have played varsity football since my freshman year and I have started since I was a sophomore. I know what it takes to fight and to overcome adversity. In my early years I did not know my father and wasn't a priority to my birth mother. I was tasked with taking care of my younger siblings since I started 1st grade. All though most would find this tough, I accepted the challenge of being a responsible child while still managing sports and school. During these early years the football field was a place where I could escape and be myself despite the rough background I had. I met my father when I turned 7 years old and since then I have grown into the person I am today, a mature and strong young man who has goals for his future. When I moved with my father many believed I wouldn't become much but channeling all the negativity and doubt from others into football I felt reborn. After fighting my way and winning the starting job from a senior my sophomore year I realized what this game is really about. It's about having fun, and perfecting your craft no matter what the odds are. I believe that I am great recruit because I bring the work ethic on and off the field as well as in the classroom. I am coachable and always willing to work to achieve the team's goals. I hope you consider me for your program and thank you again for your time.
